Friday Motivation: He Called You To Be You

Psalm 20:4 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”

Opportunities are great but not all of them are for you. Just because an opportunity presents itself to you, it doesn’t mean that you should jump right at it. Stick to your goals. Keep working towards those dreams and do not be easily persuaded by the” easy way out”.  Try not to let anything sway your away from your calling.

Remember why God chose you.

He called you to be  you. If everyone tried to do the same things in life, this world wouldn’t make any sense.  If you’re an artist, be that artist. If you’re a businessman, be one heck of a business man/woman! The point is, keep doing what you are passionate about or what you were called to be with all your heart. Give it 100%. Try not to live a life that others want you to live. Try not to please others by doing what they think you should be doing.

I am me. The one and only Debz Mak. I am unique. I am different. No one else in the world can do what I do the way that I do it because God gave me a unique way of doing it. If I don’t do what He called me to do, then who will do it for me? No one.  So, why try to live a life that was not intended for me?

Life will pass you by.

So what are you waiting for? Search deep inside your heart those dreams and desires that God placed in there and go after them. Even if people think you’re too much of a dreamer. I’ve always been called weird or a dreamer. And honestly, that has never bothered me. I like being different. I like being me. I love the way God made me. And you should too. You should love the way God created you.

Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

If there’s something you should have accomplished long ago that you still have not done, now is the time to get started. Don’t put it off any longer. Whether it’s a change of career, going back to school, starting a business, or whatever it is, pray for direction from God and lean on Him to guide you.

We spend so much time looking back on our lives thinking what shoulda coulda woulda, that we never actually just go for it and DO IT!

Psalm 37:4-5 “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Be blessed.

When It’s Time To Let It Go

Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go. —Hermann Hesse For some, letting go is as easy as saying “oh forget it.”  In that moment, they’ve let go. For others, like me, letting go is more difficult.  Something I have been battling with is letting go of certain people/relationships. Because I know that as soon as I let go, I will no longer turn back or have room for it in my heart. And that whatever it is I’ve been holding to and fighting for, will disappear into thin air as if it […]

What Would You Tell Your Younger Self?

Just live the little things. This is what I would tell my younger self. Growing up, I always looked forward to the next best thing.  The next phase of my life when I’d graduated from high school, went to college, got a new car, traveled,  got married and etc.. I would literally check mark when each thing on my “list” happened. I did that so much that I feel as if I started to miss out on just living in the moment.  I was constantly wishing and dreaming for the next “best thing”. When we are always looking forward […]

Living the American Dream: Is it possible to ever really live such a life?

What exactly is the American Dream and is it possible to ever really live such a life?  “In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement” regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.” I am an immigrant to this country. I came here at such a young age with my family.  Not many people are as fortunate to move to the U.S from XYZ country for a better future. My parents have always sacrificed so much […]

Your Dreams Chose You. You Didn’t Choose Your Dreams!

One of my dreams came true this week. To be published by a reputable and major publisher. I will be posting more details on it soon but pretty much, I am now a contributing writer/ blogger for The Huffington Post. You may read my first article/ blog post here:” You Make Motherhood Look So Easy!” In the article, also previously published on this blog, I encouraged women to go after their dreams despite the struggles one may face throughout motherhood. Go ahead and read it, share it, and share it again! Dream big. Set goals. Take action. Stop wasting your life […]

You Make Motherhood Look So Easy!

Is motherhood as scary as it sounds? For the past couple of weeks, since giving birth to my second baby, I’ve gotten comments such as, “You Make Motherhood Look So Easy!” My first thought was, “What the heck does that even mean?” I received this comment from a mom and from a friend who doesn’t have children yet. I was so confused, so I asked my husband if I should be offended or flattered. Then I decided to ask for clarification from one of the persons who told me this—the one without children yet.  She further explained that as someone without […]

Focus on the Positive. Pray for the Negative.

This morning, I had my quiet moment for about 5 1/2 minutes and then the baby cried. Oh yeah, the baby– since my last post, I went into labor a few days later and had my beautiful baby boy! I will soon be writing the birth story. Going back to my quiet moment, during that time, this came to me: it’s much easier to tell someone what he/she is doing wrong rather than to focus on the wonderful things he/she is doing right.  Focus on the positive. Pray for the negative. Appreciate more. Complain less. Uplift more.  Don’t tear down. […]
