Silence Is Pushing the Off Button

Taking time to yourself may be just what you need at times.

-PMak

dwelling in the quiet moment.

the stillness of silence.

alone with my thoughts.

and savoring every minute of it.

Sometimes we rush throughout the day without ever taking the time to pause for a moment.  We go from one thing to another and never just sit quietly. When is the last time you took the time to just sit alone with your thoughts? Without any distractions…

When is the last time you took just a brief moment to yourself to recollect  your thoughts or simply meditate?

We live in a fast world so I understand that having a moment to yourself is almost impossible, especially  if you are a parent.

I take advantage of nap times. I’m  sure other moms are with me on this: nap time is bliss.

Sometimes life gets  frustrating. Plans change. People annoy you. Kids drive you nuts. Work stresses you out.

Those quiet moments have become so important for my sanity. My sacred moment of just pure silence. Sometimes I read. Sometimes I sing. Sometimes I write, but these days I just sit quietly.

You don’t  have to  be at home. It can be at work. School. Your car. Wherever.  Just do it…turn down the noise and be quiet.

Quiet is peace. Tranquility. Quiet is turning down the volume knob on life. Silence is pushing the off button. Shutting it down. All of it. – Amir

Why Is It So Darn Hard For Women To Lose That Baby Weight?

Okay. Confession: I used to be one of those girls. You know… the super-fit gal with perfect abs and perfect legs judging those moms who were “not so fit” anymore after they had their baby. It’s not so much that I judged how they looked. But I judged  their “slacking behavior ” for not getting back in shape. At least that’s what I thought. If I only knew. For those who know me, you know I used to be a dancer so I have always been  physically active. “Once a dancer, always a dancer”, they say. But  I haven’t been as active […]

When Social  Media Becomes Suffocating, Addicting, and Obsessive.

Yes, we all know. Social media is the best thing that was ever created, especially for this millennial  generation. But what happens when too much of social media becomes a bit… addicting… obsessive… suffocating ? Instagram is a BIG DEAL for bloggers. I am a blogger, so it is a BIG DEAL for me. It is the place where we brand ourselves as bloggers and grow readership. It is a one stop place where we can be inspired, motivated, and connected. I  have made many “online” friends who I will probably never meet in person, who are bloggers, writers, home […]

Decorating For Fall On a Budget

Who says decorating for the season has to be pricey? Given that we just moved into a new home, I decided not to go all out with the fall decor this year. But I had to do something! So I’m sharing what I have so far…nothing fancy–just a few simple decor I picked up at Ross and the Dollar Tree. It’s all about how you make it/customize it. Think outside the box and be creative when your budget doesn’t allow! Just to clarify, I do not celebrate or participate in anything Halloween, but I do enjoy decorating for Fall. The […]

Friday Motivation: He Called You To Be You

Psalm 20:4 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Opportunities are great but not all of them are for you. Just because an opportunity presents itself to you, it doesn’t mean that you should jump right at it. Stick to your goals. Keep working towards those dreams and do not be easily persuaded by the” easy way out”.  Try not to let anything sway your away from your calling. Remember why God chose you. He called you to be  you. If everyone tried to do the same things in life, this world wouldn’t make any […]

How In The World Am I a Stay-At-Home Mom With a Full Time Job?

Calling all my working mamas! How in the world do you do it? Especially if you have a 9-5 job. I work from home and thought it would be just fine with an infant and toddler. Hah. Forgive me for underestimating how much work it would be. It is really hard. At least I don’t have a job that requires me to clock in and out and sit at a desk for certain hours. Don’t get me wrong, I still have to work 40+ a week, but I get to make my own schedule. If it was not for the flexibility, I […]

Enrich Your Space With Flowers

Disclaimer: I am by no means an expert on flowers. But no one says you have to be one or that you should break the bank to have some pretty flowers around the house. I bought these at my local martketplace and was instructed on how to properly care for them. I’ll try to change them up a bit every two weeks or so. Many people have misconceptions about flowers such as: Flowers are girly. You shouldn’t buy yourself flowers. Flowers are expensive. Flowers are only for special occasions But I’m learning that floral centerpieces  can brighten up any room […]
