When Your Plans Fail

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. –Proverbs 16:9

I always try to remind myself that my plans are not necessarily His plans. I can try to control my life as much as possible, but at the end of the day, God rules. So even when I find myself questioning and worrying, I remind myself that God has a plan and a purpose for everything in my life–even those beyond my comprehension.

My plans are just that. Mine.

So I’m trusting and believing, even when that seems difficult.  I’m staying positive, even when negative thoughts want to consume my mind.

Most importantly,  I’m letting go.

I’m letting go of my worries and sentiments that won’t let me breathe in peace. Freely.

I’m letting go of failed plans and making ways for new plans.

I’m letting go of broken relationships and making ways for healing.

I’m letting go of disappointment and making a way for restoration.

Because in the end, His plan will always prevail.

End Of the Year Stress

Why is it that the end of the year always comes  with its own problems?

This is a stressful and drepressing time of the year for many,  and it has sadly personally affected me as well.

I’ve heard many bad news from loved ones this month: car accidents, hospitalization, sickness, death, incarceration…you name it!

How can you stay happy when everything else around you seems to fall apart? How can you not be angry or frustrated when you feel like you should be?

Let it go.

When you let go, God has a way of stepping in and doing it right and doing it well. The more you try to change the situation,  the harder it gets. Just stand on what you believe in and trust that God has everything under control.

Take care of yourself  and your loved ones during this tough time of the year.

Try to do something to get your mind off your worries. Take a walk. Exercise.  Read. Laugh. Dance. Pray for someone else.

Hug those you love and hold them tight just little bit longer. Cherish every moment and forgive easily.

Most importantly,  pray and stay calm.

Silence Is Pushing the Off Button

Taking time to yourself may be just what you need at times.

-PMak

dwelling in the quiet moment.

the stillness of silence.

alone with my thoughts.

and savoring every minute of it.

Sometimes we rush throughout the day without ever taking the time to pause for a moment.  We go from one thing to another and never just sit quietly. When is the last time you took the time to just sit alone with your thoughts? Without any distractions…

When is the last time you took just a brief moment to yourself to recollect  your thoughts or simply meditate?

We live in a fast world so I understand that having a moment to yourself is almost impossible, especially  if you are a parent.

I take advantage of nap times. I’m  sure other moms are with me on this: nap time is bliss.

Sometimes life gets  frustrating. Plans change. People annoy you. Kids drive you nuts. Work stresses you out.

Those quiet moments have become so important for my sanity. My sacred moment of just pure silence. Sometimes I read. Sometimes I sing. Sometimes I write, but these days I just sit quietly.

You don’t  have to  be at home. It can be at work. School. Your car. Wherever.  Just do it…turn down the noise and be quiet.

Quiet is peace. Tranquility. Quiet is turning down the volume knob on life. Silence is pushing the off button. Shutting it down. All of it. – Amir

Friday Motivation: He Called You To Be You

Psalm 20:4 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”

Opportunities are great but not all of them are for you. Just because an opportunity presents itself to you, it doesn’t mean that you should jump right at it. Stick to your goals. Keep working towards those dreams and do not be easily persuaded by the” easy way out”.  Try not to let anything sway your away from your calling.

Remember why God chose you.

He called you to be  you. If everyone tried to do the same things in life, this world wouldn’t make any sense.  If you’re an artist, be that artist. If you’re a businessman, be one heck of a business man/woman! The point is, keep doing what you are passionate about or what you were called to be with all your heart. Give it 100%. Try not to live a life that others want you to live. Try not to please others by doing what they think you should be doing.

I am me. The one and only Debz Mak. I am unique. I am different. No one else in the world can do what I do the way that I do it because God gave me a unique way of doing it. If I don’t do what He called me to do, then who will do it for me? No one.  So, why try to live a life that was not intended for me?

Life will pass you by.

So what are you waiting for? Search deep inside your heart those dreams and desires that God placed in there and go after them. Even if people think you’re too much of a dreamer. I’ve always been called weird or a dreamer. And honestly, that has never bothered me. I like being different. I like being me. I love the way God made me. And you should too. You should love the way God created you.

Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

If there’s something you should have accomplished long ago that you still have not done, now is the time to get started. Don’t put it off any longer. Whether it’s a change of career, going back to school, starting a business, or whatever it is, pray for direction from God and lean on Him to guide you.

We spend so much time looking back on our lives thinking what shoulda coulda woulda, that we never actually just go for it and DO IT!

Psalm 37:4-5 “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Be blessed.

It All Starts with Faith

Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe. Saint Augustine

It’s funny that I read about faith and prayer in my devotional this morning. It’s like God knew exactly what I needed to hear/read.

I like to believe that I’m a woman of faith. I’m usually a very positive person full of faith and hope, but I reached a point where my ability to have faith in certain things has become questionable.

It all starts with faith. How can one pray for something they don’t even believe in? You simply can’t.  For as long as I continue to lack faith in whatever it is that I’m hoping for, my prayer is worthless. Because it all starts with my faith. That’s the hard part. Believing in something that you can’t see–especially when you’ve been disappointed before.
If more than ever, this should be the time to hope more, and enlarge my faith. Because prayer changes things.

So prayer does make a difference—a life-changing and earth-rattling difference.- Lysa TerKeurst

Allow your faith to be so bold that fear and doubt have no room in your heart.
